*sniff* I heard a rumor that an XP-compatible XG driver was being released, but haven't heard too much about it. It creates a directory with all the relevant samples in and maps each sample to a specific key on your midi keyboard. But there's a problem with this: Some of my earlier compositions are written in MIDI, back in the days when I had Yamaha's S-YXG70(the freebie shipped with FF7 PC)! And now that I've upgraded to XP, I no longer had that luxory. You can convert a soundfont (.sf2) file into an (.sfz) file by using Extreme Sample Converter 3. I usually import my SFs into, say, Jeskola Buzz, compose the song in there, and dump it to the HD as a WAV.
